The Huffington Post is an American News Website that offers coverage from a variety of topics such as: politics, technology, media, world news and much more. This is the website in which the article I chose to write about, Millions of People Will Buy the Apple iPhone 5 for No Apparent Reason, posted by Neil Katz, Executive News Editor of the Huffington Post Media Group. This article was published September 14, 2012 at 2:32 pm. The editors main points in this article, points out the fact that Apple lovers will keep buying Apple products regardless if there is a dramatic change or not, and Apple will be rolling in the money.
Apple releases September 21, 2012 at 8 am the iPhone 5, which could potentially be the greatest selling device of all time amongst Apple History. What apple makes the iPhone 5 so appealing and different from the 4S? Not much at all, they are nearly identical, but Apple lovers are pre-ordering and soaring to get this new gadget. According to Bloomberg analysis Apple will be profiting around $36 billion in the new sales of the iPhone 5. But what sets them apart from the other cell phone devices such as Droids and other smart phones? Neil Katz, Executive News Editor of the Huffington Post Media Group, found that the Samsung has pretty much the same applications and new additions as the iPhone 5, but Apple still seems to be more profitable with their loyalty customers and their brand name. Neil made sure to write in his blog that he wasn’t an Apple hater, and that he is just disappointed with the company as a whole.
The material that was given in this article seemed at times bias, but at the end the editor made a clear statement saying that, he is one of the Apple lovers and will most likely being waiting in the line for their new gadget, but still doesn’t know why. I feel like he could of added some insight from actually “Apple lovers,” who are counting down the days to the release, and actually find out what and why they want this new phone. Overall, it was a fairly easy to comprehend, and made me think why is it that we are so consumed and obsessed with a gadget, such as the iPhone.
