WoW, MMORPG, MC, LFG, BWL and PVP? What do these codes mean? Looks like a bunch of letters in my alphabet soup. There are gamers all around the world who use these codes religiously. What special codes are they associated with? Possibly the world’s most popular Online Role Playing video game across the United States today, World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft, which is often referred to as WoW, is an online game where, players from all around the world assume the role as a fantasy hero. Over the course of his or her life, your character will explore a virtual world full of mysteries, magic, and endless adventures. As your character advances, you will become stronger, embrace thousands of brave adventures, learn powerful skills, abilities, and gain experience.
This website will allow you to search, learn, and focus on different aspects of a particular Guild on World of Warcraft called First Legion Germanica (FLG). A Guild is an in-game association of characters. Guilds are formed to make grouping and raiding easier and rewarding, as well as to form a social atmosphere in which to enjoy the game. Guilds can range from all sizes, but guilds that are smaller tend to be more personal. Larger guilds tend to be less personal because the guild masters typically invite too many players, which generally are less organized and less powerful. Guilds are teams of players who share similar goals, interests and tactics in the game.
My goal of this site is for the viewer to receive the best understanding of what a guild is in WoW and what the communication, interaction, and the unique qualities and traits are amongst this particular guild called First Legion of Germanica. In order for this to transpire, I did an Interview with my close friend Travis Fulton. This allows me to receive hands on experience and research about the game and learn more about guilds. I also did a lot of secondary research by looking online and through scholarly journals. After doing an extensive amount of primary and secondary research, I became very intrigued about the game, and decided to do a free trial of WoW. I provided the link World of Warcraft Starter Edition, where you can play for free as well.
On the top of the page there will be a navigation box where you can click on the link. There are 6 different links: Home, Guild as Internet Culture (what Internet Culture is), Guildsman Interview (characteristics of World of Warcraft players within the subculture & Interview with Travis Fulton), Guild Interaction (how WoW uses the Internet in a vital way), Guild Member Profile (expectations and requirements), Guild Lingo (key terms & codes), and lastly
