This is Dr. Chen (yes, Lang/浪 is my given name). I am originally from China so I speak Mandarin Chinese and English is my second language. I got my B.S. and M.S. in Psychology from Beijing Normal University in China, and I received my Ph.D. from UW-Madison with a specialization in Cognitive and Cognitive Neuroscience. My research interests are broadly in the domain of learning and memory, and they expand across a wide range: neural representations of concepts, such as daily objects, words, numbers, faces, etc.; brain structures and connectivity supporting learning and memory in typical and atypical populations (e.g., ASD, ADHD, individuals with dyscalculia/MLD); and how concept learning is associated with socio-affective factors.I teach courses for both the Psychology Department and Neuroscience Programs at SCU, including Intro to Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience, Perception, and Research Methods and Stats. I am very interested in promoting data science skills and scientific inquiry abilities in students. As a person, I like cooking/baking and traveling/Hiking. My ultimate goal (not sure whether it will happen) is to finish the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico/US border to Canada).
