Welcome to the LCCN@SCU!

Welcome to the Lab of Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience at Santa Clara University! This lab is led by Dr. Lang Chen and we are a group of people who are interested in understanding the psychological and neuroscientific basis of memory and learning in a broad sense. We use various methods, including functional neuroimaging with open-access datasets, meta-analysis on behavioral and neuroimaging data, and computational models, to examine the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying the structure, process, and representations of knowledge and concepts in both typical and atypical populations.

Currently, our lab has a few lines of research projects: (a) understanding the behavioral, cognitive, and neurobiological profiles of heterogeneity in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their impacts on learning social and non-social concepts; (b) understanding the behavioral and neurobiological mechanisms of math learning difficulties (MLD) who show persistent difficulties in processing and representing arithmetic and quantity information; and (c) understanding the neurobiological of knowledge representations of object categories and its possible link to thinking.

Please explore our work in Publications and members of the lab. If you have anything questions, feel free to reach out to Dr. Chen (lchen4@scu.edu).
