This commercial shows Betty White, an iconic actress, playing football. She’s getting crushed on the field until her teammates hand her a candy bar, which transforms her back into a man.
This commercial is not only funny and makes the viewer laugh, but it also appeals to how people act different when they’re hungry. Many people get angry or act out of sorts when they’re hungry. This commercial uses a Snickers bar to quell that hunger. I don’t think that a snickers bar would be very filling. It’s just a bunch of empty calories. This commercial doesn’t accurately portray their product.
Beyonce Pepsi Commercial (2013)
This Pepsi commercial displays Beyonce strutting up to some mirrors, where she sees reflections of her past self. She dances with the other versions of herself from some of her most iconic music videos and then walks out of the room, drinking a Pepsi.
This commercial works to convince the viewer to buy their product by using star power. If Beyonce loves Pepsi, so should you. Beyonce is one of the most influential stars in the world at the moment and it’s hard not to be mesmerized by her in the commercial. I didn’t even realize that it was a Pepsi commercial the first time I watched it. I just kept watching it because I saw Beyonce.
Carls Jr. Ad: The All Natural Burger
This is a Carl’s Jr. advertisement that promotes their “All-Natural Burger.” The campaign shows a model walking nearly naked in a farmers market, heading towards the burger.
This commercial took the statement “sex sells” to heart. They use fruit as props to cover the model for most of the ad, making the viewer think that she is naked. The fact that the commercial takes place in the farmers market shows that they’re claiming that their fast food product is just as natural as the fruit and vegetables on the stands. They claim that their product is all natural and doesn’t contain things such as steroids. This just makes me think, shouldn’t that be a given? If it isn’t, what does that say about their other products?
Share a Coke USA Commercial
This commercial was made from Coca-cola, the biggest soda corporation. The commercial is a part of the Share A Coke campaign, where they put peoples’ names on the bottle as a way to promote their product.
This commercial shows how influential the food and drink corporations are. I remember after this commercial debuted and Coke released this line of bottles, everyone at my school was posting pictures online of bottles with their name on it. This was a genius marketing technic. By adding the name on the bottle, it personalized their product without having to invest a bunch of money into any severe changes. The feeling of the commercial also puts Coke in the background of summer fun and celebration with friends.
Tyson Chicken Nuggets TV Commercial
This is a commercial that Tyson, one of the largest food corporations, made to promote their chicken nuggets. It depicts how picky children are, but are happy and excited when they are given Tyson chicken nuggets, as they’re ” one thing kids love, 100% of the time.”
I remember when I first saw this TV commercial years ago, I though that it was very cute. I related to the kids, as when I was growing up, I was a very picky child. This video does a great job of appealing to parents and shows that it is directed towards them when the kids go “thanks mom” at the end of the commercial. The purpose of this commercial is to convince parents to buy their products for their children. Even though they claim that the chicken nuggets are made with 100% real chicken, the food is still kept frozen, not fresh. This commercial also exemplifies how the food industry targets children, letting parents choose the easy way out by providing them a quick way to feed their kids. Instead of having to spend time cooking a well rounded meal, all they have to do is worry about taking the chicken nuggets out of the oven on time.
