Have you ever thought about the people you are friends with, and whom you often associate yourself with? Do these people tend to be the same ethnicity as yours, or different? If you have friends that are all of your ethnicity, I am not saying that you are discriminating or prejudice in any way. My point here is that we should strive to communicate and get to know others of different cultures, so that we may widen our understanding of others.

How do people initially associate themselves with those of their own culture? Well, it can be easily said that we are more comfortable with people who look like ourselves. However, there are underlying influences that have caused us to be this way.
One of the focal issues I will also be looking at is how the SCU campus has facilitated this prejudice and segregation. For example, there are separate multicultural dorms that tend to have an extremely high concentration of diverse minority students, compared to all the other dorms with a high concentration of White students. This initially forces students to interact with other students who are similar to themselves. This does not facilitate any learning of other cultures, but it tells students that it is okay to only associate yourself with others like you.
In this webpage you will find several pages regarding the topic of prejudice on the SCU campus. First I will lay out the Current Student Demographic @ SCU, and then move onto Racism on Campus. Then I will provide a short Video I produced that will give my topic more light. I will also provide an Annotated Bibliography that provide background information on my topic, along with a Literature Review. Lastly, I must conclude my research with What is the Answer?
