http:\/\/www.writeawriting.com\/academic-writing\/strong-thesis-statement\/<\/a><\/p>\n It never fails to amaze me how much time one spends writing one particular sentence when drafting an essay. \u00a0This one sentence could go through 10, 15, even 20 drafts<\/strong> before it is satisfying enough. \u00a0The string of words I speak of is commonly known as a thesis statement.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n These 20-30 words represent the basis<\/strong> for an entire argument<\/strong>. \u00a0Throughout the essay you are constantly going back to the theme<\/strong> of your thesis. \u00a0Time and time again, you look back to that one sentence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.lib.usf.edu\/writing\/wcnews\/thesis-statements\/<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As I began writing my research paper I was excited about my topic<\/strong> and had a general idea for the layout<\/strong> and organization<\/strong> of my essay. \u00a0Little did I know, the biggest struggle I would face was developing my thesis.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I started focusing more on educatio https:\/\/mic.com\/articles\/129514\/this-is-what-it-takes-to-overturn-sexist-high-school-dress-codes<\/a><\/p>\n The phrasing, the flow, the sentence structure. \u00a0It all has to be perfect. \u00a0Or at least happily workable to draft\u00a0a satisfying essay. \u00a0At this point, I have developed my thesis into, “Policies<\/strong> such as coeducation in universities appear to address inequity<\/strong>, but fail<\/strong> to acknowledge<\/strong> persisting social injustice.<\/strong>”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As of right now, I plan to stick with this, but it could easily change five more times between now and when the final draft is due. \u00a0At least at this point I am confident<\/strong> the ideas I am trying to address are conveyed accurately. \u00a0If I were to change my thesis now it would be more word choice or phrasing, not content<\/strong> based editing.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n http:\/\/www.writeawriting.com\/academic-writing\/strong-thesis-statement\/ It never fails to amaze me how much time one spends writing one particular sentence when drafting an essay. \u00a0This one sentence could go through 10, 15, even 20 drafts before it is satisfying enough. \u00a0The string of words I speak of is commonly known as a thesis statement. n and women’s rights with statements like, “Sexism still exists on modern college campuses causing biased treatment and greater barriers to education for women.” \u00a0This then progressed to “Policies like coeducation in colleges and universities appear to address inequity, however they fail to recognize the social injustice that persists.” \u00a0While this was more on the path I wanted, something still wasn’t right.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/danceswithdissonance.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/07\/i-got-this.gif\")
