Internet Activism

When it comes to the world we live in, more and more it is turning into a police start. Slowly our natural rights are being taken away and replaced with useless laws enforced by a stale and stagnant government who has lost sight of what the people need to survive. The US government has been using fear to confidence people that the government has the best interest of the people. This is why our government goes and completely wastes over 7 billion dollars on uneducated TSA agents.

Yesterday, a video surfaced and went viral on how to trick TSA agents and get anything past the newly installed body scanners. These body scanners are illegal in Europe because of the radiation the machine emits and privacy laws it violates. For some reason the US has decided to throw all our rights away and let an uneducated bunch of asshats (excuse my French) run our airport security. I know I feel safer!

Even though we live in the great and awesomely free United States of America, the TSA and supporting government agencies have warned and threatened news agencies; telling them not to cover the story and downplay the video. In my previous posts I mention that major media is in the pocket of whoever is supplying the money, this just shows that like Occupy, the gulf oil spill and Climate Change; the government can enforce how far our freedoms extend and influence news stories to spin and misinform the reader.  This is nothing new but with technology and the internet community coming together it is creating a whole new kind of activism, one where everyone, anywhere can participate and help spread global news and bring light to global issues. Internet activism is an important voice that needs to be heard and protected because in the end; they can stop some of us but not all of us.

  1. Very interesting post. I remember when I first used the new body scanner things. It was quite an experience. The first thing the two TSA people whispered was “It’s a girl?”. I was so glad that these people are smart enough to stop people from bombing the airport and planes but not smart enough to tell that I was a female. Airport security is definitely not the greatest. I especially like the liquid rules where you can’t have more than three ounces. Makes no sense, it’s easy enough to get a multiple people to have multiple liquids and bring them together if they wanted to do some damage.
