{"id":279,"date":"2017-05-24T04:28:13","date_gmt":"2017-05-24T04:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/mmason17\/?p=279"},"modified":"2017-06-04T00:52:07","modified_gmt":"2017-06-04T00:52:07","slug":"library-session-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/mmason17\/2017\/05\/24\/library-session-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Library Session Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today instead of a typical class session we had a library session which was taught by a librarian. \u00a0We learned about scholarly articles and peer reviewed articles. \u00a0They are articles published in scholarly journals and go through a rigorous review process before it will be published. \u00a0Each process is slightly different; however, they follow the same path. \u00a0Articles get submitted, a publisher decides if they want it to continue the process, if it gets passed, a team of scholars in the field review the article, then the publisher gets to make the final decision if it gets published, then it could get published. \u00a0When reviewing the article, the peer reviewers are asking questions such as is this true, is it relevant, is it new information?
