Hi! My name is Micaela Mason.\u00a0 I am a student at Santa Clara University and I am majoring in\u00a0child studies with an emphasis in pre-teaching. \u00a0I am so excited for my future career as an elementary school teacher. \u00a0I have wanted to be a teacher since 1st grade which seems like forever ago. \u00a0I want to teach little kids around ages kindergarten to 2nd grade. \u00a0I look forward to\u00a0teaching students who are still super excited to be at school and learn. \u00a0I absolutely love working with kids and couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my life. \u00a0C’mon how can you resist that face?!?<\/p>\n

OK, I have to get back on track. \u00a0I am from the Burlingame, California. \u00a0Burlingame is near San Francisco and part of the Bay Area. \u00a0This makes me a huge Bay Area sports fan. \u00a0The SF Giants are my favorite though. \u00a0I admit I am not very athletic, but I really enjoy watching sports and supporting others. \u00a0My athletic love comes directly from my parents love for sports which has been passed down to me and my other siblings. \u00a0I am the oldest of four children. \u00a0I can honestly say I enjoy being the oldest – yes it comes with a lot of responsibility but that also means you enjoy a lot of things your siblings don’t get to enjoy. \u00a0Family is super important to me and honestly I probably spend too much time with my family, but hey is that really a bad thing? \u00a0I also have the guilty pleasure of watching way too much Netflix and a lot of movies. \u00a0In our house, quoting movies is taught just like speaking is taught. \u00a0Countless times are the phrases\u00a0“Name that movie” or “C’mon this is an easy quote” are said in my house and immediately naming that movie becomes a habit hard to break (but do I really want to break that habit?). \u00a0So I apologize now for my countless\u00a0movie quotes and references. \u00a0I would list out all of my many favorite shows and movies so we could bond over our love for pixelated screens. \u00a0But you don’t want to be reading that list forever cause it goes on way too long. \u00a0Yes, I know, I have a problem.<\/p>\n

Anyways, why I am blogging? \u00a0I am taking an english course that is titled We Don’t Need No Education: Higher Education and You\u00a0for my Critical Thinking and Writing requirement at Santa Clara University. \u00a0In this class, we improve our writing skills and learn many writing tips. \u00a0Part of our assignment\u00a0is to create and update a blog. \u00a0We are instructed\u00a0to post about different academic topics and keep a record of our writing journey. \u00a0I am excited to be able to look back after I have completed this blog so I can see how my writing have grown overtime. \u00a0I find blogging to be a lot more fun than writing academic essays, so I am super excited about this project. \u00a0So,\u00a0let the academic work begin!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
