Yeah yeah yeah – I’m on a mission<\/p>\n

Yeah yeah yeah – If you’re with me raise your hands<\/p>\n

Yeah yeah yeah – Got no inhibitions<\/p>\n

It’s our decision, we’re gonna have a good time<\/p>\n

Yeah yeah yeah – Got a new religion<\/p>\n

Yeah yeah yeah – Gotta take me as I am<\/p>\n

Yeah yeah yeah – I’ve got expectations<\/p>\n

With gradification, we’re gonna have a good time<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Not only is this such a catchy\u00a0song<\/a>, but you will see later that it is pretty punny too.<\/p>\n

(…well not quite yet)<\/p><\/div>\n

Being that I will be spending time in Santa Clara University\u2019s archive, choosing a topic pertaining to SCU is my obvious guideline.\u00a0 Even though it may seem like an obvious guideline, pin pointing a specific topic question was some what tough for me.\u00a0 But not to worry I had somewhat of an epiphany as I was sitting in SCU\u2019s Mission Church this past Sunday on Easter.\u00a0 As I was day dreaming during the homily (hate to admit it, but it\u2019s true\u2026), I was thinking about how the very church I was sitting in has evolved so much over time and how it has effected the SCU community.\u00a0 And this is when I realized my research question pretty much slapped my in the face.<\/p>\n

(figuratively, not literally lol)<\/p><\/div>\n

I decided I wanted my research question to be something along the lines of\u2026<\/p>\n

How has The Mission church changed and effected the SCU community over time?<\/i><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

From asking this question, I am on a mission<\/b> to find out as much as possible about The Mission. I hope to find out all aspect of the history of the church then in comparison to now, such as\u2026<\/p>\n

  2. Spiritual Life on campus<\/li>\n
  3. Mission<\/li>\n
  4. Vision<\/li>\n
  5. Values<\/li>\n
  6. Events<\/li>\n
  7. Services<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Most importantly, I really just want to find out all the factors that contributed to the Mission becoming a University.<\/p>\n

    After many class discussions and reading various articles on archival research, I feel as though I am much more educated and have got a new religion<\/b> on how to go about my own archival research. The archive has gotta take me as I am<\/b> as I attempt to test out my new researching plan.\u00a0 From Tirabassi\u2019s article, I have learned that even though I\u2019ve got expectations<\/b>, I have to mindful that not all of the information will be available. Also, it is really good that I\u2019ve got no inhibitions<\/b> because it allows me to be like Nancy Drew, being that I will look for as much research as possible because I know I will never find research in one spot.\u00a0 Also from Gaillet\u2019s article, I learned more about ways to tackle the legal and moral complexities often associated with investigating valid, credible manuscript collections.<\/p>\n

    So if you’re with me raise your hands<\/b> if you think we\u2019re gonna have good time<\/b> while working on this archival research project!<\/p>\n
