This means that questions had to fit a certain set of criteria to be considered good to get the exact kind of data that you&#8217;re looking for in the research process&#8212; after I sent out my survey, I found that some questions were not well formulated giving me answers that I do not know how to interpret.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So I began my survey with questions of age and gender to get a sense<\/strong> <strong>of who was filling it out<\/strong> since I put it on Facebook rather than distributing the survey\u00a0out to college aged people on campus.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.collider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/anna-kendrick-anna-camp-brittany-snow-pitch-perfect.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for pitch perfect club scene\" width=\"500\" height=\"334\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"http:\/\/collider.com\/skylar-astin-anna-camp-pitch-perfect-interview\/\">Source<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I chose to distribute my survey on Facebook<\/strong> to find data for my research paper simply because..<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I didn&#8217;t want to go up to people in person and ask them to fill out my survey.<\/li>\n<li>My friends in real life love me so they would fill out a survey on FB for me.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/11wsZr0jbXc15m\/giphy.gif\" alt=\"Image result for gif hair flip\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/beyonce-hair-flip-11wsZr0jbXc15m\">Source<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>It was as simple as that&#8230; or so I thought.<\/p>\n<p>Then, there was a major mistake that turned into a <strong>&#8220;catastrophe&#8221;<\/strong> as one of my FB friends jokingly pointed out<\/p>\n<p>The said catastrophe was a misplaced apostrophe on the word &#8220;you&#8217;re&#8221;. Instead of the correct way, <strong>I wrote &#8220;your&#8217;e&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.ebaumsworld.com\/mediaFiles\/picture\/2097692\/81796882.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for omg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ebaumsworld.com\/pictures\/omg\/81796878\/\">Source<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An honest mistake turned into heartless backlash from my so-called &#8220;friends&#8221; that I trusted to fill out the survey&#8230;. little did I know, <strong>such a seemingly small typing mistake would mean so much.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-123\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/lschreder\/files\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-30-at-4.45.32-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1064\" height=\"1112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/lschreder\/files\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-30-at-4.45.32-PM.png 1064w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/lschreder\/files\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-30-at-4.45.32-PM-287x300.png 287w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/lschreder\/files\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-30-at-4.45.32-PM-768x803.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/lschreder\/files\/2017\/04\/Screen-Shot-2017-04-30-at-4.45.32-PM-980x1024.png 980w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1064px) 100vw, 1064px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I think that because my chosen audience was my Facebook friends, they were able to criticize a minor error because it was a my friends poking fun at me. It didn&#8217;t actually bother me because <strong>who really cares about a typo??\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>but&#8230; this does show the importance of how one creates a survey and it shows that little errors are important. Furthermore, my friends know who I am and would allow a mistake like this to pass, but if this was a more professional survey sent out by a stranger I would <strong>expect them to put enough care into designing it so that questions don&#8217;t have typos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 255px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/a8zb8N3eIRpx6\/giphy.gif\" alt=\"Image result for gif: unworthy\" width=\"245\" height=\"170\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/giphy.com\/gifs\/a8zb8N3eIRpx6\">Source<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, the playful wrath of my friends gave me a lot information about them survey itself, not just what the data I got from the survey.
