As the trail approaches town, hikers have an option of exiting or entering via the Main Street footbridge. Santa Cruz Avenue, University Avenue, Main Street and the several side streets of downtown Los Gatos<\/a> offer a variety of charming boutiques and restaurants for visitors to enjoy before or after their hike. Famous for its dining, shopping and art museums and galleries, the quaint town is the perfect destination for tourists looking for a relaxing afternoon.<\/p>\n

Another alternative trail entrance and exit within close proximity is the Forbes Mill history museum<\/a>. This flour mill was built in the mid 1850s by James Alexander Forbes, and its construction initiated the development of the rest of town, which eventually expanded local industry to logging and agriculture. The two-story museum serves as a popular educational activity for visitors to enjoy and learn\u00a0 about the area\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

The next main access point on the trail leads to the Old Town plaza,<\/a> which features a handful of retail stores, upscale dining options, and a public parking lot.
