Chapter 3: Children’s Room

Here we have a variety of different programs offered for children. Sometimes this room is served for our after school homework club. Qualified volunteers come in daily and tutor students. Most of these students are trying to break cycle of poverty and doing everything possible to enter a four-year college. Many of the children that come in enjoy coming to the homework club because it is a time to have time for themselves and focus on their studies. Many of these children cannot concentrate at home because many of them have to clean and take care of their siblings. A few of the older children that come in for help sometimes end up tutoring younger children which so am amazing to see.  We also offer fun activities in this room that incorporate children of all ages playing board games and getting crafty.
