I have now showed you all of the different programs offered here at sacred Heart Community Service Center. You are more than welcome to volunteer or let others know about all the wonderful programs offered. As you can see, volunteers mainly run Sacred Heart Community Service Center. They are essential to this program and greatly appreciated. It is important that each volunteer serves with compassion, dignity, and respect. Over 2,000 people visit Sacred Heart daily and believe me, each volunteer makes an impact on at least one person.
Our belief that all people have the right to basic human rights inspires us to work on both an individual and societal level to achieve a community free from poverty. Sacred Heart Community Center places poverty and homelessness at the forefront of our work. Our mission for our community is to solve not only the effects of poverty, but also more importantly the root of the problem. 
As a volunteer, our vision is to ensure that children and adults are free from poverty. We take part in a mission to build a community free from poverty by creating action, hope, opportunity, and chances for those who come in. Essential services given at Sacred Heart Community Service Center is alleviating families in crisis by helping meet basic needs for survival, including shelter, food, and clothing. This basic stabilization offers families with the support to move through the immediate crisis and begin working toward long-term security and self-sufficiency.
At the Sacred heart Community Service Center people are given a chance to improve their lives and you can make this possible. You can make a difference in the lives of the people who come in here each day. The most rewarding part of volunteering here is seeing how appreciative people are towards the help they receive. In some situations the homeless are so grateful that they themselves want to give back and volunteer. It’s so inspiring knowing that people who are living in the streets don’t lose faith. The homeless are viewed as people without a voice and skills but they are trying to improve their lives as well as others in their same situation. All the people who help out in the Sacred Heart Community Service Center put a great emphasis on building a strong relationship with a diverse community, all who play a vital role in the city of San Jose, and making changes to reduce poverty in the community.
