Cars 2

Sadly, the final Pixar film currently made was the first noncritcally successful Pixar film, Cars 2. The sequel to the already lowest rated Pixar movie was not precisely terrible. Whether it truly deserved its 38% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is debatable, but there is no doubt it was not up to Pixar quality. After the epic emotional journey of Toy Story 3, the flippant and almost silly Cars 2, despite its beautiful animation, was broadly slammed by the critics and while still monetarily successful it was not the culture phenoman or must see film Pixar movies are generally considered to be. And the reason was simple. The story was not as good as other Pixar films. It did not resonate with adult audences like UP or The Incredibles or WALLE. The deeper fears and emotions cleverly handled were absent.
