1. “- Equality California.” – Equality California. Web. 01 Nov. 2012. <http://www.eqca.org/site/pp.asp?c=kuLRJ9MRKrH>.

This source provides the basic information on what SB 48 is exactly. While this website gives the basics, it is more geared towards supporting the FAIR Education Act. I felt it important to first research what the Act was exactly and why California legislature found this act law worthy. Although I do not support SB 48, I felt it necessary to get both sides, in support of and against, of the issue. This helped me further my stance against the Act.

2. “Class Act / Stop SB 48.” Class Act / Stop SB 48. N.p., n.d. Web. 03 Nov. 2012. <http://classact2012.com/>.

This site provided most of the information supporting why I believe SB 48 should be overturned. Contrasting from my first source, this site gives reasons why the Act shouldn’t be a law. The site gives helpful ways one can get involved in the fight to overturn the law and the benefits in doing so. This site is what initially interested me in the issue of SB 48 and my personal opinion that it should be revised.

3. “The Definition of Morality.” (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy). Web. 01 Nov. 2012. <http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/morality-definition/>.

I found “The Definition of Morality” page in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy to be a useful source to support my argument that SB 48 is a moral and ethical issue. This source gives various ways to look at the concept of morality. I used it to connect with the fact that SB 48 is a controversial topic that involves issues regarding cultural and religious beliefs.

4. “Grade By Grade Learning”. PBS Parents. Web.  02 Nov. 2012. <http://www.pbs.org/parents/goingtoschool/what_kinder.html.>

I found this source significant because it explains the expectations of students in K-5. I gathered information from this site to support my point that children in grades K-8 are far too young to be expected to learn about the issues that SB 48 wants to incorporate into social science curriculum, including history textbooks and other material. This website gives grade by grade information regarding what students are learning and how they learn it.

5. Menesini E., Camodeca M., Nocentini A. (2008) Bullying among siblings: the role of relational and personality variables. British Journal Of Developmental Psychology.

This source helped me support that bullying begins, the majority of the time, in the home and should therefor be dealt with at home. Teachers should not be held responsible for what parents should be telling their kids what is right and what is wrong. The statistics from this source clearly indicate that there is a higher rate of bullying and victimization in the home environment, rather than the school environment.
