Brief author background, article summary and analysis are all present; along with my personal view on the subject and questions the reading raised for me in regards to internet culture and technology advancement in society.<\/p>\n

WOWaholics<\/a> is a cultural hypertext on an internet culture. A definition and discussion of an internet culture and a detailed ethnography, or exploration, into people addicted to the video game WoW (World of Warcraft) can be found throughout the site. In addition, there is a special interview from a former WoW addict which discusses his personal struggles with gaming addiction and the impact on his life.<\/p>\n

\"minifluoride<\/a><\/p>\n

The website Fantastic Fluoride?<\/a> is a tactical media hypertext which discusses fluoride in public drinking water. The idea for this website was sparked by the controversial issue of water fluoridation across the country. Many people are under the impression that fluoride in their water is good for them, but research may prove otherwise. Although no conclusive evidence has proven the benefits of the ingestion of fluoride, there is suggestion that it can cause significant adverse health effects. I argue the uncommon opinion, that public drinking water should not have fluoride added to it. In order to learn more, please explore this website\u2014make sure to watch the informative video that remixes previous studies, as well as documents college students\u2019 accounts of fluoride!<\/p>\n

\"analytical<\/a>Actionable Surveillance<\/a> is an analytical hypertext that aims to answer the question \u201cwhat observable behavior warrants action?\u201d Jennifer Warren<\/a>, Austin Alleman<\/a>, Emma Barrie<\/a>, Nidal Nasrah<\/a>, and Jasmine Farias<\/a> all contributed to the construction and topic of this website. We analyzed this issue in light of the novel Little Brother by Cory Doctorow and pulled out examples from the book where surveyed behavior is acted upon. We created a machinima in Second Life based on a combined script by Jennifer Warren and Austin Alleman.
