Becky’s Book Reviews

“Becky’s Book Reviews” is an Internet blog book review, written by Becky, which targets children and young adults. Becky has a BA and MA in English literature Texas Women’s University and a MLS degree all from Texas Women’s University. She is an avid reader and enjoys writing. On her blog, Becky reviews over thirty-five different genres of books ranging from picture books to adult fantasy. Although she covers wide variety of topics, her writing style is colloquial and she frequently uses of capitalization which distracts the reader. Becky continually states her opinion, and her observations often overshadow the plot of the books. The site is easy to navigate and her reviews are relatively straightforward and are appropriate for her target audience of children and young adults. The most beneficial part of her reviews are bullet points at the end of each post which contain information to help the reader determine if the book is a good fit for them. Becky’s use of links is minimal, but she gives the book details at the beginning of each review, so it is easy to find access to a book if one is interested.
