I\u2019m lost.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Thats how\u00a0<em>New York Post\u00a0<\/em>columnist Phil Mushnick begins his\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2016\/04\/11\/challenge-to-white-sox-espn-hosts-recite-chance-the-rapper-lyrics\/\" target=\"_blank\">opinion piece<\/a>\u00a0challenging the decision by the Chicago White Sox, a professional baseball team, to make Chancelor Bennett, known better by his stage name, Chance the Rapper, the team&#8217;s ambassador. \u00a0Mushnick disagrees with the White Sox&#8217;s recent decision to make Chance their &#8220;team ambassador,&#8221; a\u00a0position that combines the fans of hip-hop and those of baseball.<\/p>\n<p>Mushnick says he &#8220;spun the Google wheel&#8221; and it &#8220;landed&#8221; on Chance&#8217;s song\u00a0<i>Smoke Again<\/i>, which he claims to be &#8220;dehumanizing gangsta rap.&#8221; However, by &#8220;randomly&#8221; selecting a single song, Mushnick avoids fulfilling his obligation to fully understand who Chance is as an artist. \u00a0Not all of Chance&#8217;s beliefs are represented through one single song, and if they were, I guarantee Chance wouldn&#8217;t pick <em>Smoke Again\u00a0<\/em>as the one that does.\u00a0If Mushnick were to pick a couple more songs, he might land on <em>Sunday Candy, Nostalgia\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/genius.com\/Donnie-trumpet-and-the-social-experiment-wanna-be-cool-lyrics\">Wanna Be Cool<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>a song that advocates for individuality and uniqueness in a time where everyone is too focused on being the same and fitting in to be &#8220;cool.&#8221; \u00a0\u00a0In fact, when googling &#8220;Chance the Rapper songs,&#8221;\u00a0<i>Smoke Again<\/i>\u00a0doesn&#8217;t come up in the first 10 articles. \u00a0This seems to argue that in order to make his insular opinion, Mushnick searched &#8220;Chance the Rapper Smoking Weed Song&#8221;- an activity\u00a0that Chance no longer participates in.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s sad that Mushnick fails to recognize what thousands of people, including the White Sox organization, Chicago&#8217;s mayor\u00a0Rahm Emanuel do: that\u00a0Chance is striving to improve the lives of millions. \u00a0Sadly, readers of this opinion piece may come to an\u00a0\u00a0unfortunate conclusion: that Chance is hurting Chicago when the truth is in fact the complete opposite.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Help me with this;
