\u00a0It consisted of the best teams from Northern California and Southern Nevada. \u00a0The top seven teams from this tournament would go on to &#8220;Regionals&#8221; (which consists of the best teams from the SW United States) in two weeks. \u00a0While at the tournament, one of the seniors on our team made an unbelievable catch, on a pass that was out of bounds and about to fly over a fence. \u00a0He leaped up and caught the frisbee while climbing the fence, reminiscent of an outfielder in baseball robbing a home run.<\/p>\n<p>Since the game was being recorded, the video of this unbelievable catch quickly made its way across the internet and just yesterday it was <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Brodiesmith21\/status\/722992512911040512\">tweeted out by Brodie Smith<\/a>, a very well known professional frisbee player and trick-shot YouTube sensation. \u00a0It was a great reminder of how powerful technology is in sharing stories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ease of Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within just a couple days, the whole world was able to see a single highlight that happened in Livermore California over this past weekend. \u00a0Thanks to the exposure from Brodie Smith&#8217;s tweet, the play is currently at #1 on the frisbee thread of Reddit.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter and Reddit aren&#8217;t common places where scholars would think to look for communication and interaction, however, this is a simple example of how easily people can be connected in today&#8217;s world. \u00a0This same concept can be applied to learning in a classroom environment. \u00a0People from across the country and world are able to share ideas through these technological developments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SC Top Ten<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/08\/espn_logo__130813225927.jpg?w=446&amp;h=299&amp;crop=1\" width=\"365\" height=\"245\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our team is currently trying to get the video to be played on ESPN&#8217;s staple sports show, sportscenter. \u00a0We are using twitter to raise the number of views of the play and hopefully as a result, more people will see it and potentially it will ultimately wind up on ESPN. \u00a0If it wasn&#8217;t for the ease of sharing and communication that the internet provides, the only people who could have witnessed the great catch would\u00a0be those who saw the play live.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sectionals I play for the Santa Clara University frisbee team and this past weekend, we played in a big tournament called &#8220;Sectionals.&#8221;
