{"id":109,"date":"2016-04-18T18:05:08","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T01:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jkipper\/?p=109"},"modified":"2016-04-18T18:05:08","modified_gmt":"2016-04-19T01:05:08","slug":"how-to-use-twitter-in-papers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jkipper\/2016\/04\/18\/how-to-use-twitter-in-papers\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Use Twitter in Papers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/thumb\/9\/9f\/Twitter_bird_logo_2012.svg\/100px-Twitter_bird_logo_2012.svg.png\" width=\"220\" height=\"178\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In his article, &#8220;BEAM: A Rhetorical Vocabulary for Teaching Research-Based Writing,&#8221; Joseph Bizup, a professor at Columbia university introduces his research concept: BEAM. \u00a0As opposed to the traditional way of categorizing sources, primary, secondary and tertiary, Bizup chooses to organize them in categories based on how the way they are being used. \u00a0BEAM is made up of background, exhibits, arguments, and methods.<\/p>\n<p>Of the four categories, the most interesting is exhibits.<\/p>\n<p>Bizup states that the most common form of an exhibit source is giving an example of something. \u00a0However, Bizup distinguishes between \u201cevidence\u201d and \u201cexhibit.\u201d He stresses that the job of \u201cexhibits [is to] lend support to claims \u2026.
