{"id":7,"date":"2016-03-07T21:40:04","date_gmt":"2016-03-07T21:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jkipper\/?page_id=7"},"modified":"2016-03-11T12:34:15","modified_gmt":"2016-03-11T20:34:15","slug":"what-am-i-doing-here","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jkipper\/what-am-i-doing-here\/","title":{"rendered":"About Me and My Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As an 18 year old college student I\u2019m often the first person my parents ask if they have a question about technology.\u00a0 Whether it\u2019s something as simple as why their computer won\u2019t play the video they want to watch, or as complex as how to transfer music from iTunes to an Android phone, I\u2019m expected to know what to do. \u00a0Usually I do a good job, but there are times where I have genuinely no idea.\u00a0 In these moments, I can see how fast technological advances are occurring around me.\u00a0 Right now I\u2019m able to quickly pick up the new information and figure out why it worked, keeping me up to date with the developments.\u00a0 However, I can tell that there will be a time where the developments are happening at such a speed that I can no longer keep up.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t to say that the developments are bad, it\u2019s just that there are so many ways technology can help us that it seems inevitable that in a few years, we won\u2019t be able to keep up with all of them.
