Finally time to talk about the results and what I found!<\/p>\n<p>To start out, I got about 30 responses, so I didn&#8217;t get too many but it was enough to make it fairly credible for the specific demographics which made up the answer pool. Most of those who responded were freshman, so my take-aways are largely based on this assumption.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 398px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/51bf7f5ce4b05a61167e6194\/t\/55ab0fe7e4b09c860728e305\/1437274212274\/\" alt=\"\" width=\"388\" height=\"388\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">My sample is perfect for me!\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/51bf7f5ce4b05a61167e6194\/t\/55ab0fe7e4b09c860728e305\/1437274212274\/\">Source<\/a>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>1) A lot of people know about these centers!<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; A good percentage of the people who answered knew the three centers (just in case you forgot they are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scu.edu\/ic\/\">Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scu.edu\/ethics\/\">Markkula Center for Applied Ethics<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scu-social-entrepreneurship.org\/\">Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship<\/a>). The Ignatian center got over 70% recognition, so students know the name of them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-139\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-1.png 580w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-1-300x132.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-1-500x221.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>2) The Markkula Center wasn&#8217;t as popular as it seems.<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; I compared the percentages of students who said they know \u00a0each of the centers, and the percentage of students who chose each as their NUMBER 1 choice in terms of how important they are for the students. Markkula Center, which was more known then the Miller center in table 1 lost to the Miller center in table 2. Maybe this could be the difference between the amount of advertising (people know it but don&#8217;t actually participate) and good programming (more people care).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-140\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-2.png 425w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-2-300x211.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>3) People aren&#8217;t doing things they are passionate about.<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; When I compared the terms students choose as what mattered most to them, it often did not match up with the centers&#8217; values. (Look at question 5 in my last post to see the exact question) By comparing these answered to the mission statements of each program, we can say people are not getting involved with the centers which they share the same values with. By changing this, the student experience could be dramatically improved!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-141\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"645\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-3.png 645w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-3-300x80.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.scu.edu\/jjburwell\/files\/2017\/05\/Screenshot-3-500x133.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>4) People aren&#8217;t interested at all!!!<br \/>\n<\/strong>-My final finding was a sad one&#8230;students are just not getting involved. Overwhelming people showed disinterest in these three centers, although they all do amazing work here at SCU.
