When she talked about students believing that they have a great paper when all they do is put together a whole bunch of facts, I thought she was talking to me and to me only. Yeah, yeah, I do sneak some of my own claims in my papers, but really, I am the king of just getting all my evidence down and saying I’m almost done. Throw some transitions in there and BAM! Paper is done and ready to be turned in.

Also when she talked about the encoder, decoder, and the reality of a research paper, it really kind of opened up a new a new idea and new version on how I see research. It brought me back the idea of ethos, pathos, logos and how they can be useful in research writing. Which was interesting to me because I had never thought to use all three during a research paper, I had only thought to just build some credibility with ethos. But when thinking about it, I believe that the logos, the purpose or topic of WHY you are writing something, is most likely to be the most useful.

Now I don’t know if reading this article is actually going to help me right away, because I have been writing a certain way for all my life…But at least I will be aware of what and why I am doing certain things which will hopefully end up leading me to changing how I go about my business when doing research papers.

Honestly, I think the most strategies that I related with from Kantz’s article were the key negative ways that she thinks all young students use…

[1

post-88","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
Uncategorized
Honestly, I think the most strategies that I related with from Kantz’s article were the key negative ways that she thinks all young students use…
["GET
