I have decided that I hate research papers now. I know hate is a strong word and all, but honestly not a big fan of it at all. There is so muchh more that goes into it! More than I ever knew about! You have to introduce you sources a certain specific way, you have to write an annotated bibliography and then after all that you also have to write the actual paper. Yeah, yeah, I just sound like I’m lazy and don’t want to work, but being completely honest, who does?
It isn’t all bad I guess, you can learn so new and pretty cool stuff, as long as you are interested in your topic, it can have some interesting parts. Like in this past paper, I was actually able to learn some new things in a field that I’m involved with. I wrote about college athletes and their involvement with substance abuse, alcohol in particular. Since I’m apart of the athlete demographic this automatically affects me whether i decide to be apart of the partying scene or not. Which help make my research interesting to me, although I don’t enjoy doing research, when it is something that could potentially affect you, it has different meaning.
So all in all, not the biggest fan of research papers, but in the end they do have their plus and minuses. which is basically every other aspect of school as well.
