Hello world!
It’s me, Ivanna.

I am a college student in California who is just trying to balance school work and fun. I love to explore new places, sing, hangout with friends, and have a genuinely good time. I am a communications and Spanish double major with an international business and possibly musical theater minor, so if anyone could tell me what I can do in my life with all of that, I would really appreciate it.
Also, this is my first time ever blogging, and to be honest, it’s kind of weird. Blogging is intimidating because anyone around the world can just sit down with their computer, go online, click on my blog, and read my thoughts. Usually, if I write something it is because I am turning it into my teacher for a grade, and they are the only person that sees it. I rarely write anything for “fun”, just because I don’t really feel the need to.

I have read many great blog-style posts on The Odyssey that some of my friends have written, and they are fantastic. They have even motivated me to want to try writing my own blog-style article. Unfortunately though, that website alone was not motivating enough. What finally did the trick was my English teacher telling my classmates and I that we had to create, write, and work on our own blog. This blog is part of our grade, so I knew that it was something that I actually had to do and spend time on.
However, like I said before:
Blogging is kind of weird, and dare I say it, scary
It’s an interesting feeling to put my thoughts out online for the world to see. Blogging is sort of like a personal diary that literally everyone with internet access has access to. Luckily, this blog will not exactly be like that. This blog is meant to be more educational, as I will be examining and elaborating on academic writings and topics. Which is good, because I am not really interested in sharing my feelings with the world, but also bad because…

Even though writing is ” the hardest thing ever”, I am very excited to further hone my writing abilities in this new format! In this 21st century world, everything is moving online. This means that people are able to easily share ideas with people halfway across the world with a click of a button. If I post something on this blog, someone in India could comment on it, giving me a new perspective. I love the interactivity that blogging will give me, as I can learn much more with the help of my readers than I ever could by myself.
Blogging will be an interesting challenge and experience, and I am excited to get started with it. So, go CTW 1, go SCU, and go broncos!
