How Story Creates Impact
MEET OUR EDITOR
Hi! My name is Audrey Bauer and I am a Marketing major and International Business and Retail Studies double minor at the Leavey School of Business. I am from Seattle, Washington so I am a lover of the outdoors and a big foodie too. I have always been interested in pursuing a career related to fashion/fashion marketing, and I believe that in order to fully understand fashion trends and demographics you must understand it through a global lens.

Hi! My name is Emma Pigott and I am a Political Science major and International Business minor. With the combination of these disciplines, I am especially interested in the ways that state actors and political institutions shape globalization and international trade. I am from Chicago, Illinois but spent some time living overseas which definitely inspired my love for travel and passion for International Business. In the future, I hope to work for a multinational corporation related to selling in international markets or global sourcing.

Coming into Santa Clara University, I had no idea I would leave with a double minor, the second having been international business. I thought I had everything figured out with my practical choice of finance major and more passionate selection creative writing minor. However, upon mapping out my required courses, I found that I was still on track to graduate two quarters early, even with my intention to study abroad. Thinking it forbidden to graduate any more than a quarter early (which it’s not), I decided to take on another area of study.

Nervous, anxious, and stoked — these feelings overwhelmed me as the stewardess closed the cabin door of the plane whisking me away to Madrid, Spain, for my ten week internships at a boutique mergers and acquisitions firm called OnetoOne Corporate Finance. As the plane went wheels up off the runway, I had no idea that a quick skip over the Atlantic ocean was the only thing remaining between me and the most unforgettable summer of my life.
Though it may seem like my time at Santa Clara University was purely academic-based, that is not strictly the case. It’s true that, as a commuter student, I never became very involved on campus, but I made sure to take everything I learned home, where my career emerged.
