(View Text Version) Now, after finally arriving back to the entrance of the Boardwalk, let’s go and explore the other side. But first, if looking for a healthy snack, go ahead and grab those fruit cups we had seen earlier. If you are not hungry, it might also not be a bad idea to grab them, as there is still a long way to go.
Now onto the left side of the Boardwalk. The first small booth on the left is the Dippin Dots ice cream. Here they offer six flavors: Blue raspberry, cookie dough, banana split, cookies n’cream, mint n’ chocolate, and rainbow. So, go ahead, take your pick. On the left of this station is the Merry go Round.
The Merry go Round requires three tickets. So if you think you may be running out, it may not be a bad idea to run to purchase a couple more individuals tickets from the ticket booth. In front of the Merry go Round is the Carousel ice cream place, in which they sell a variety of different flavors of ice cream to enjoy while waiting in the long lines. If you don’t feel like eating something cold, they also sell big bags of popcorn to munch on while waiting in line. After walking around so much, it might be time to go ahead and take a restroom break. The restrooms are located right after the Merry Go round. If you are in for a real meal, it may be a good idea to eat now because we have arrived to the World Grill. The World Grill sells paninis and other sandwiches with fries. This is the only restaurant on the Boardwalk that sells sandwiches with grilled vegetables. Besides the small food cart, it is the only place with healthy options for those who do not want to splurge their calories. My recommendation is to enjoy a healthy yet delicious meal here, as there are many adventures that have yet to come.
Across from the World Grill is the Haunted Castle. In order to get in, one needs to have four tickets. The lines for Haunted Castle are generally quite long, so it may not be a bad idea to purchase a soft serve ice cream while waiting in line. There is the Giant Ice Cream Shop conveniently at the entrance of the line for Haunted Castle. Across from this Giant Ice Cream shop is a booth that sells funnel cakes. If you are not interested in funnel cakes, then right across from it is a restaurant called Dipper Dier. Dipper Dier’s specialty is deep fried cheesecake.
After this restaurant you will find the longest roller coaster on the Boardwalk.
It is called the Big Dipper because it goes up and down in giant dips. Like many of the other roller coasters, the lines for Big Dipper are long. So, it might be a good idea to pick up pink cotton candy or crunchy kettle corn from the Pink House located across the street. Next to the Pink House, there is a Dart-a-Station, where you can play dart games. Note: this place does not accept the ticket you had purchased in the entrance. You will have to pay separately for these games.
Also, in the line of Dart-a-Station, you will find Tater Twists directly ahead of Dart-A-Station. The specialty of Tater Twists is fresh potatoes on a stick. To add a bit of spice to the potato on the stick, they have a condiment station right next to this food truck. Ahead of Tater Twists is my personal favorite, the Deep Fried Station. There are a variety of snacks the Deep Fried Station offers including Twinkies, Oreos, and Smucker’s PB&Js. They show their customers how they fry dried foods like Oreos. If not interested in actually eating these high-calorie content snacks, it might not be a bad idea to stop and enjoy the creation of foods like fried Twinkies.
Now move onto the station ahead. This is called the Pineapple Dole Whip where they offer desserts with pineapple. As you can infer from the name, the specialty of this food truck is the pineapple dole whip. The pineapple dole whip consists of a mix of pineapple juice and vanilla ice cream in the bottom and whip cream that is topped by a cherry. It is a great dessert if wanting a sort of a tangy taste in your mouth. Pineapple Dole Whip is also known for selling its Sweet Potato Fries.
Ahead of Pineapple Dole Whip is a food stand called Fish and Fries. Clearly, from the name you can guess they sell different types of cooked fish and a variety of fries. Now you may be wondering why all of the descriptions mentioned above are talking about all the places on the right. Note, the Bigger Dipper roller coaster is the largest roller coaster in the theme park; therefore, the tracks of the Big Dipper are laid out on the other side.
Now, back to near the Fish and Fries. In a small corner next to Fish and Fries is a tiny Dip n’ Dots station offering the same flavors you had seen ahead. You can enjoy Dip n’ Dots right after you get off the Rock n’ Roll car ride located ahead of the ice cream shop. The Rock n’ Roll car ride is designed for younger children who sit in the cars while it moves in circles rapidly. Across from the Rock n’ Roll or next to the end of the Big Dipper is the Beach Shack. You can find clothing, purses, accessories, and brand named clothing in the shack if you want to take a souvenir home with you.
Across from the Beach Shack, located next to Rock n’ Roll, is the Seaswing ride. The seaswings are for people of all ages. Once you pay your three tickets, you will sit on a swing and buckle up. The swings will start moving slowly at first, and then the speed will increase rapidly. The seaswings will allow you to capture a glimpse of the water that is located to your right. Note this is a fun activity recommended for the entire family to enjoy.
You hungry again? Well you are in luck because you will find Super Sundae ice cream ahead of the seaswings. It might be a good idea to munch on something light like kettle corn. If looking for something healthy, pull out those fruit cups you had purchased earlier because you are about to enter for the greatest adventure in the next few minutes.
Walk across from the Super Sundae ice cream parlor and you will find the only water ride on the Boardwalk, Lodge’s Ravage. You will need six tickets in order to get on and be prepared to get soaked!
After waiting in the long lines and finally getting on this adventurous ride, it may not be a bad idea to stop and grab some food. Ahead of Lodge’s Ravage, there are stands where they sell creamish-brown kettle corn, pink cotton candy, mint chocolate chip ice cream, sweet potato fries, etc.
Now, we are almost near the end of the Boardwalk. However, don’t panic if you still wish to sit on some of the rides. You will run into Cave Train Adventures on the left. To get to this, you will have to take a stairwell down. Once you pay the five tickets, you will sit on a train and will be taken through a dark cave where they show you different sites.
After climbing back up you will see a couple of children rides in a semicircle including Sea Dragon and Tsunami. Finally the ride at the end of the Boardwalk, is the Ferris Wheel. The Ferris wheel allows people to get a top view of the entire Boardwalk as well the water. While waiting in line, you will hear many ooos and aaas as the people ahead of you on the Ferris wheel get the breathtaking view. From the tip of the Boardwalk deck, you will get a view of the beautiful lighthouse lying on the edge of land.
