Dissemination

As part of our community-based participatory action research approach, after conducting our preliminary and final analysis we prioritize sharing results in Spanish with farmers and collaborators in northern Nicaragua.  We have done this several ways and continue experimenting with different communication approaches to sharing results in a useful format that can be used for evidence based strategy to address these challenges.

These are several examples of recent results sharing activities for this project and related work developed initially with colleagues at PRODECOOP, the Community Agroecology Network (CAN) and ASDENIC:

  1. A farmer handout shared with farmers sharing results from 2014 to 2016, and handed to households before asking them to participate in a new survey.
  2. A short documentary film that was led by local organizations and produced by a Nicaraguan documentary film, focusing on actions to end seasonal hunger.
  3. Presentations and short courses done at the request of local UNAN and UNA Universities in
  4. Presentations  at academic conferences and in peer reviewed publications.
