SInce inception, they have rescued more than 47,000 pounds of food! BFR encourages communities to report food waste for pickup, too, and delivers the waste to more than 100 households per week. During the pandemic, City Harvest is recusing perishable produce and aims to help NYC\u2019s food insecure communities by providing educational training along with redistributing food. FRN works on 230 school grounds across America. In spite of mass school grounds terminations, more than 30 student chapters continue safeguarding food waste. Furthermore, since the start of the pandemic, a few businesses and organizations have donated their food waste left by closures and event cancellations.
