South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition is an organization that I have volunteered before with. The link to their website can be found here. It is a local organization that cleans up nearby creeks and hosts volunteering events to clean up the trash. I have participated in helping clean up the Guadalupe River in San Jose. If you’re someone who lives in the Bay Area, this is a great volunteering activity to do, even just once is beneficial and helps. The amount of trash that is present in the water and around it is really quite sad to see. There are simply all sorts of different objects dumped. Overall, it is a great experience and is always an extremely rewarding feeling at the end of it when you see the large amount of trash that was collected. Seeing the large amount, you really feel like you contributed and helped the community.
