I’ve attached “artwork” that represents sustainable clothing below. This is one demonstration on how various materials and clothing items can be reused as functional items. This is a scarf that I own that I’ve turned into a bag by tying the ends together.

The example below can be made by using a square scarf. I’ve included the steps in case you would like to learn how to make your own bag:
Find a square scarf
Tie a knot on each corner of the scarf about 8 inches down
Take two of corners together (aboe the knot) which creates one handle of the bag
Repeat step 3 for the other two sides
Wear your new bag! There should be a pouch in the middle with two handles.

From this case, you can see that reusing clothing can be extremely easy and you can save money by not purchasing a new bag while saving the environment by avoiding purchasing new items and therefore using more resources. Discarding clothing in a landfill creates greenhouse gases as well, so it is important to consider alternative uses. It is easy to fall into the trap of consumerism and buy more clothing to avoid creative ways of reusing what you already have, but next time you consider buying something new, think about if you really need it or if you can make it yourself!
