Recology

Recology is a pick-up service located on the West Coast of the United States that specializes in reusable items. The San Francisco Recology Office is unique. It hosts an Artist in Residence program for any artist that would like to work with any items and materials they recover from construction sites and other locations. There is even a sculpture garden where larger exhibits are displayed. This is a unique art-based, creative effort to keep litter off the streets and in the bays to in beautiful masterpieces that we can all enjoy.

SCU Eco-Fashion & Art Show

Students at Santa Clara are putting their best reusable foot forward by participating in a yearly Eco-Fashion and Art Show. You do not necessarily have be a designer to participate, but excitement and an idea are welcome! This is not only a showcase of clothing made from scraps of fabric along with other materials, but it is a night for learning about waste in the fashion industry and how it could impact the environment. Usually held in the Recital Hall and hosted by the Center for Sustainability, SCU Presents, and the Sustainability Student Advisory Board, this event is not to be missed! Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has not yet been talks of hosting a virtual showcase, but only time will tell! Photos from previous shows can be found on their Facebook and their Flickr album. They even have an eco-fashion Pinterest board for when inspiration strikes!

So get your materials and select your model of choice, and get designing!
