I created the above piece of art digitally through Procreate on my iPad. The intention is a commentary on how subtly aware people are of ocean pollution. In the piece, the singular plastic bottle draws attention, but not in a glaring way. The focus of the viewer is still on the majesty and mystery of the ocean. I think this is the way a lot of people look at the issue of ocean pollution. They’re acutely aware that it exists and requires action, but tend to overlook it because they still see the ocean in its full untouched glory. I hope this image can target more artistic audiences and help inspire them to contribute to efforts to clean up our oceans.
