Her love for words has since blossomed into a lifelong study and practice of the English language.<\/p>\n<p>In her four years at SCU, Casey has explored the fields of journalism, social media, marketing, education, publishing, and administration, as well as nonprofit sectors. She has had many opportunities to work in related jobs and internships throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County. Most recently, she spent summer 2011 working as an editorial intern at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paloaltoonline.com\/\">Palo Alto Weekly<\/a> and a production editing intern at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.klutz.com\/\">Klutz Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Casey currently works as a writing tutor at SCU&#8217;s student writing center, The HUB. The goal of the HUB is not to edit student papers, but rather to build better writers one paper at a time. As a result, Casey has spent the past year and a half working with student writers from all backgrounds and skill levels, critiquing a wide variety of writing assignments, topics, and styles.<\/p>\n<p>She is now pursuing a career in corporate communications &amp; technical writing, with freelance writing on the side.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a child, Casey developed an insatiable desire to read every book she could reach.
