Dear Students,
Will it kill you to be polite in emails?
I wouldn’t mind if I receive the email from your mobile if you were polite. (you know you can always tell, “Sent From My iPhone”. That’s fine, if it’s well written!)
I once got an email from a student, starting the sentence, “hey…” Please address your professor properly, or simply just say “Hi Professor”.
Email is for us to establish easier communication, but it is absolutely NOT instant messages, especially I am not your peer.
One of the most common reasons that you write to me, is to ask a question or clarify a problem or schedule a meeting. If you expect a prompt response, at least, do your part: Be polite!
Thank you,
Warm regards,
Dr. Hsiao
