While reading through my fellow classmate Matt Haworth’s blog, I came across a post that resonated with me and was similar to an experience I had. In Matt’s post, African American Literature, he explained how his experiences in CTW helped him conduct research for another class. I had this same experience! Last quarter in my C&I class about Islam and the Middle East, we had to write numerous research papers and locate educational sources. I would often use the SCU Library website Omni File to help find research and educational journals. In Matt’s blog, he mentions using Omni File and even clipped in a photo of its complex search bar!

Thanks to CTW class, I was able to understand how to use the Omni File search and it became extremely easy for me to navigate the database. Being able to use a verified database to locate educational sources made finding research for my essays much easier. Because I was using quality sources, my papers often had many different perspectives and authors contributing to my research. My CTW class taught me the importance of research and that the quality of your sources is one of the most important things while writing an essay.
