I created this site in response to the tremendous amount of research being conducted on self-concealment and related phenomena. My goal with the site was to bring research, ideas, and people together so that there can be greater collaboration and awareness of previous and ongoing research in this area. Although the site has not grown in the ways I imagined it might, research using the Self-Concealment Scale continues to expand, with about 200 or more studies having used the scale. I have decided to provide updates and background on this research at my personal website, Dr Dale Larson, and you can go there to review those findings. I will also be posting blogs about the research on that site.
My colleagues and I have published a review of research using the Self-Concealment Scale: Larson, D. G., Chastain, R. L., Hoyt, W. T., & Ayzenberg, R. (2015). Self-concealment: Integrative review and working model. Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, 34(8), 705-729. Since this review there have been a large number of new studies using the SCS. I provide a list of those at my personal website and will continue to update that list and list any upcoming conference presentations on self-concealment research.
