Welcome to the blog for Sophie’s podcast about the Truckee River Walk. Please visit the pages above for more information and images on this tour guide.
The Truckee Riverwalk is one of Reno’s most popular features for both tourists and locals. Located along the downtown strip of the Truckee River, the Riverwalk allows its users to visit the accessible parts of the river, as well as enjoy the Riverwalk’s popular shops and restaurants.
The Truckee Riverwalk, starting in the mid 90’s, has been renovated due to the Riverwalk Merchant Association’s Beautification Project. Their goal was to make downtown Reno more safe and accessible for people of all ages. Despite the great improvement to the landscape surrounding the Riverwalk, a large part of Reno’s homeless community still resides in the area. This podcast takes its users around the Truckee Riverwalk while observing some of the city’s failings in terms of the addressing the struggles of the homeless community. The podguide link as well as the riverwalk map is posted below. Enjoy!
